A WORD FROM KEN KOLB BOARD CHAIR
Dear Donor,
When a Texas nonprofit wants professional help to start, manage, or grow its ability to carry out its mission, one San Antonio organization connects them to a wealth of resources. The Nonprofit Resource Center of Texas (NPRC) has been a leading resource for nonprofits for the past 34 years and has helped hundreds of nonprofits improve our community in areas such as the environment, education, arts, healthcare, and services for families, children, and seniors. To continue our legacy of strengthening the nonprofit communities of Bexar County and South Central Texas, we ask for your support in our 2008 Annual Fundraising Campaign.
The NPRC provides educational workshops and consultant services to nonprofits in key areas including board governance, fundraising, strategic planning, and financial management. We provide useful information for grant writers and fundraisers in researching funding opportunities with the popular Directory of Texas Foundations, now in its 27th edition. In addition, we have had great success with the introduction of our new publication, Directory of Corporate Philanthropy in Texas.
NPRC educational conferences continue to prove the importance of our role in the nonprofit community. In May, we hosted another successful version of our annual event, Dialogue with Donors, which was sponsored by a generous $25,000 grant from the AT&T Foundation and had more than 230 attendees and speakers. Later this year, we look forward to hosting our recognition event called Giving Thanks – The Spirit of Philanthropy, and the annual Legal & Accounting Institute.
To start our 2008 Annual Fundraising Campaign, I am pleased to recognize the lead gift of $10,000 from Valero Energy Corporation. We sincerely appreciate Valero’s support and belief in our mission. I am also proud to announce 100% participation by our Board of Directors in our Annual Campaign.
