The Nonprofit Resource Center of Texas was founded in 1974 as a community education project of the Junior League of San Antonio. Originally called the Funding Information Library, the organization incorporated as the Funding Information Center of Texas and received nonprofit status in 1979. In 1996 the Funding Information Center of Texas was re-named the Nonprofit Resource Center of Texas, a name that is more representative of its comprehensive services.
The Center leads the field in the provision of services for nonprofit organizations in central and south Texas. In its 34th year of operation, the Center serves more than 3,000 people annually by providing programs that strengthen the capacity of nonprofit leaders and volunteers to direct their organizations.
